Development of high strength, low density panels through natural fibre reinforcementCompleted

Project leaders: Knudson, Bob, Chan, Felisa

Objective:

The objectives of this project are to investigate the combination of woven and non-woven (felt) high strength natural fibres with wood fibre to produce new, high strength, low density composite panels. The use of these alternate fibre sources will also help to alleviate a shortage of wood fibre resource for the wood composite industry.
