Development of value-added massive plate building systemsCompleted

Project leaders: Lam, Frank

Objective:

During the past several decades our industry and government have aimed to expand from single family residential market into low-rise residential and commercial market. Although there are successes, the expansion has been gradual and incremental at best. An innovative “Massif wood” building concept has been successfully developed in Central Europe. The objective of this project is to add value to Mountain Pine Beetle (MPB) wood by developing a Massive wood building system suitable for the N. American building market with focus on 3+ story applications.
