Novel non-contact adhesive application systemNew

Objective:

Adhesives for structural fingerjoint applications are applied using contact based glue comb systems. Glue combs push adhesive into the fingers and smear the adhesive on the fingers as the finger joint passes through the glue comb. This technology is quite old and was developed for low cost liquid adhesives like PVA and PRF's. Glue combs waste adhesive, reduce product quality/increase reject rates, reduce productivity and are not well suited to apply the newer, more expensive, fast reacting adhesives being used by most of the industry.
