Potential for Increased Treated Wood Products Usage in US South Residential ConstructionCompleted

Objective:

Determine the potential for treated Canadian wood to obtain market access in areas of North America where termites and moisture decay problems are common. This research will:
 

  • Document the introduction of treated construction lumber in Hawaii, the US South, and elsewhere;
  • Analyse the factors that contribute to the specification of treated framing lumber;
  • Determine the feasibility of increased market penetration of treated lumber in areas where termites or moisture damage is prevalent.
