Objective:

Near infrared spectroscopy can characterize wood material in seconds and without significant surface preparation, based on correlations between subtle chemical differences and the properties of interest. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential of near infra-red (NIR) spectroscopy as a solution for proving accurate moisture content and surface inactivation measurements in the case of strand boards and veneer products.
