Timber Drying Quality Prediction ModelCompleted

Objective:

Objective:Develop a decision support system that will allow the high value timber industry to predict most of the relevant operational and economic aspects of drying. This research will:

  • Study and simulate variables like timber degrade and distortion, final moisture content distribution, drying time, energy consumption, stability of the dried timbers, effect of kiln geometry and timber arrangement, process cost and product value;
  • Develop a timber drying stochastic model capable of predicting the different timber grades and quantifying the economic losses produced by degrade and shape distortions.
