OSB Use in Furniture ManufacturingCompleted

Objective:

Primary OSB producers are starting to sell an upgraded OSB product with improved screw/nail/staple holding capacity to Canadian furniture manufacturers. In general, panels can improve upholstered furniture frame strength, and reduce manufacturing costs and assembly time. This project will provide furniture manufacturers with technical data to assist them achieve cost-effective product performance and will provide OSB manufacturers with performance data to help them tailor their products to meet the needs of furniture manufacturers.
This project will compare the suitability, performance and cost-effectiveness of low grade hardwood lumber, OSB and other panel products for the manufacture of furniture.
