Objective:

Collect findings from 40 years of research on finger jointing processes, products, joint geometry, lumber quality and conditions, machining parameters, and end pressure and curing conditions to expand markets and quality. This research will:

• Collect and compile existing information from various studies carried out at Forintek and elsewhere on finger jointing process and products;
• Identify issues of concerns for the Canadian finger jointing industry and gaps of knowledge;
• Present all the information on a handbook format that the finger joint industry can use as a reference in their daily operations.
